A Sikh speaks with God in the first two padas. He is quite bewildered. How do I get Your Love?
The 3rd and 4th pada are answers by the Guru to the many questions posed by the Sikh.

The Sikh asks. O Lord, how can I know what Pleases You?; within my mind, there is a great thirst for Your Darshan.

“Raam hao kya jaana kya bhaave; mann pyaas bahut darsaave.” (rahao).

(I know) he alone is enlightened, and Your humble servant, upon whom You give Your Approval; upon whom You, the Architect of Destiny give Your Grace, such a person is always engaged in Your worship.

“Soyee gyani soyee jann Tera jis upar ruch aave; Kirpa karo jis Purakh Bidhatey so sada sada Tudh dhiaave.”

How do I Unite?, what spiritual wisdom and focus, what Virtues Please You?; (I know) he alone is Your humble servant, and he alone is Your Saint, upon whom You shower Your Love.

“Kavan jogh kavan gyan dhyan kavan gunni rijhave; soyee jann soyee nijh Bhagta jis upar rang laave.”

Guru Ji answers.

That alone is intelligence, that alone is wisdom and cleverness, which inspires one to never forget God, even for an instant; this joy is found in holy company where Praises of the Lord are always sung.

“Sayee matt sayee budh sianapp jit nimakh ne Prabh bisrave; Santsang lagg eh sukh paayo Har Gunn sadh hi gaave.”

After receiving Gur Parsad, Guru Ji says this will be your blessed state. 👇

I have seen the Wondrous Lord, the Embodiment of Supreme Bliss, and I behold nothing else besides Him; Nanak says, the Guru has rubbed off the rust (morcha), now how can I ever be subject to the womb of reincarnation again?

“Dekhyo Achraj Maha Mangal Roop kich aan nahi dhistaave; Kaho Nanak morcha Gur lahiyo teh garab jonh keh aave.”
