Raag Dhanaasree – Bhagat Trilochan Ji.

Bhagat tells the world. Do not blame the Lord. Whatever you are enduring is the result of your good or bad actions.

(Hey duniya) “Narayan nindass kahe bhuli gavaree: dukrit sukrit tharo karam ree” (rahao)

Bhagat Ji then gives 5 examples of dukh and sukh from the Hindu Scriptures and explains in each case they suffered because of their own actions.

Firstly Bhagat Ji gives the example of the moon. The moon is a devta for the Hindus.

The moon is said to rest on the head of Shankar (Shiva), along with the reputedly pure Ganga and Krishna is counted as being from his clan (chandravansi), yet because of its past actions in abetting the seduction of Ahalya, wife of Rishi Gautam, it bears scars of shame on its face.

“Sankra Mastak Basata Surasari isnan re; Kul Jan Madhe Miliyo Sarang Pan re; Karam Kar Kalank Mafitas Ri.”

The second example is of Arun, the charioteer of the Sun. His brother was Garuda, king of birds. Despite his excellent lineage, Arun bore the dukh of being a cripple because of his past actions. He was very disturbed by his crippled state. He sat in intense simran and was told that 100 births ago he had mutilated and crippled small creatures and was paying for his karmas.

“Bisav Ka Dipak Savami ta che re suarthi pankhi rae garur ta che badhva; Karam Kar Arun Pingula ri.”

The third example is of Shiva. He cut off one of Brahma’s heads when Brahma was casting dirty eyes at his daughter Saraswati. Brahma’s head stuck to Shiva’s hand and could not be removed. He went from shrine to shrine until he was blessed by Kapal Rishi who took off the head stuck to Shiva’s hand.

Although Shiva had done a noble act, yet he did it in anger and haumai, not in nishkaam sewa of the Satguru. Thus, even good acts lead to lekhas.

“Anik Patik harta taribhavan nath ri tirath tirath bharmata lahai na par ri; Karam Kar Kapal mafitas ri.”

The 4th example is that of the ocean, also considered a deva. The ocean used to give refuge to demons after they hurt the devas.

To get rid of their cover, Sage Agastya drank up the entire ocean and the demons were exposed. After drinking. the Sage could only expel the water within him by urinating. Hence the ocean has to suffer the indignity and dukh for sheltering the demons.

“Amrit sasia dhen lachhimi kalpatar sikhar sunagar nadi che nathan; Karam Kar Khar Mafitas ri.”

Incredible as these stories seem, Bhagat Ji is giving the gist of dukh and sukh as a result of past actions.

The final example is of Hanuman. He served Ramchandar Ji faithfully and bravely burnt Lanka to teach Ravan a lesson. But in his youth he had seen some rishis bathing at a river. He playfully picked up their clothes and refused to return them despite their pleas. They had to come out naked and cover themselves with leaves. One of them cursed Hanuman that he would always have to wear a loincloth instead of being free like the other animals. That’s why in any Hanuman mandir or drawing of Hanuman you see him with a loincloth.

“Dadhile lanka gar uparile ravan ban sal bisal an tokhile hari; karam kar kachhuti mafitas ri.”

Bhagat Ji concludes by saying the lekhas of these past actions cannot be erased. That’s why I keep on reciting God’s Name.(God can in His Mercy wipe out any or all lekhas “lekha chodh alekhay chutay ham nirgun leho ubaree.”

“Purbalo kirat karam na mitai ri ghar gehan ta che mohi japiale ram che naman; badat Trilochan Ram Ji.”
