Raag Gauree (Gauri) Kabir Ji.

Kabir Ji speaks of the mystical avastha when the Lord’s Jote unites with yours.

“Kimba hoye mahoye..” means how can it ever be separated again.

Describing God as “sawal sundar Rameiya” i.e. the Remiya hoya Beautiful Lord, Kabir Ji says my mind is smitten by You.

“Mera man laaga tohay” (rahao).

The Lord is met only by meeting the Sadh, the Guru. Of what is yoga or worldly pleasures (bhog).

“Sadh milay sidh paiye ke eh jogh ke bhog”

When the Sikh meets the Guru (Shabad), to resolve his affairs, the union is brought about by Raam Naam.

“Doho mil karaj ujpay Ram Naam sanjogh”

People may think I am merely singing a song, but in truth it is a Sermon of the Lord.

“Logh jaane eh geet hai eh to Brahm bichaar”.

It is as profound as the messages given at death ceremonies at Benares.

“Jio Kashi updesh hoye maanas marti baar”

Kabir Ji gives so much hope in the last two lines.

Anyone who sings or listens to the Lord’s Name with loving devotion; without a doubt such a person will obtain the highest spiritual status.

“Koyee gaave ko sunay Har Nama chit laaye: kaho Kabir sansa nahi antt param gatt paaiye”
