Raag Sri Raag M.4

A Sikh yearns to meet the Lord. He expresses his wishes to his satsangis. In the rahao, he realises only the Satguru can Unite him with Nirankar Ji.
The 3rd pada is Advice by the Satguru to the Sikh, whilst the 4th  (final) pada is couched as an ardas by the Sikh.

Within my mind and body I bear the intense pain of separation, how can my Beloved come to meet me in my (inner) home?; (I know) if I am blessed to see my Lord Master, my pangs will disappear; I go ask my friends “how can I meet and merge with God?.

“Mai mann tann birho att aglaa kyo Pritam milhe ghar aaye; ja dekha Prabh apna Prabh dekhiye dukh jaaye; jaaye pucha tin sajna Prabh kit bidh milhe milaiye.”

O my True Guru, without You I have no other (Support) at all; I am foolish and ignorant. I have come to Your Sanctuary, please be Merciful and Unite me the Lord.

“Mere Satgura mai Tujh bin avar na koye; ham murakh mugadh sharnagati kar kirpa melhe Har soye.” (rahao).

The True Guru is the Giver of the Name of the Lord. (Through His Name), the Lord Himself causes us to meet Him; the True Guru understands the Lord God. There is no other as Great as the Guru; I have come and collapsed in the Guru’s Sanctuary, pleading for his kindness to Unite me with the Lord.

“Satgur Data Har Naam ka Prabh Aap milavhe soye; Satgur Har Prabh bujhiya Gur jevadh avar na koye; hao Gur Sharnaye dheh pavha kar Dya melhe Prabh soye.”

No one has found Him by stubborn mindedness, and all grow weary with their efforts; thousands of clever tricks have been tried, but the raw, untreated mind does not absorb the Color of the Lord’s Love; by falsehood and deception, none have found Him. Whatever you plant (do) you shall have to eat  (the fruits of your conduct).

“Manhath kinne na paiya kar upav thake sabh koye; sahas sianapp kar rahe mann koreh rang na hoye; kurh kapatt kinne na paiyo jo bijhe khave soye.”

God, You are the hope of all beings, all beings are Yours, and You are the Wealth of all; Lord, none return empty handed from You, at Your Door, the gurmukhs are acclaimed; servant Nanak’s prayer is this “please save me from drowning in the terrifying ocean of poison.” (maya).

“Sabna Teri aas Prabh sabh jee Tere Tu raas; Prabh Tudho khali ko nahi Dar gurmukha nu sabaas; bikh bhaujal dubde kadh le jan Nanak ki ardas.”
