Guru Nanak Dev Ji speaks adoringly to God. O Master, You ways are Wondrous. You are spread out Majestically in every pore of the Universe.

Your Seat is in the realms of land and water, and You are spread out in all chambers of the four directions; Yours is the One and only Form in the Universe. Your Mouth is the Mint to fashion all. (God is Nirankar – Formless. Guru Ji is using the imagery of His Mouth to tell us God gives us Enlightenment about His Hukam in the form of Revelations/Shabads through the Satguru. As in “ghariye Shabad Sachi taksaal”).

“Purh dharti purh paani aasan char kuntt chaubara; saggal bhavan ki murat Eka Mukh Tere Taksala.”

O my Lord Master, Your Play is Wonderful; You pervade and permeate water, land and sky, and are contained in all.

“Mere Sahiba Tere choj vidhaana; jalh thalh mahiyal bharpur leena Aape sarab samaana.” (rahao).

Wherever I look I see Your Divine Light, Your Form Fascinates (is Mysterious); Your One Unseen Form is seen in many physical forms, which are none like any other.

“Jeh jeh dekha teh Jote Tumari Tera roop kineha; eikat roop firey parshana koye na kis hi jeha.”

All beings emerging from eggs, born from the womb, sprouting from the earth, born of sweat, are all created by You; I have seen this One Glory of Yours, that You Permeate and Sport in all.

“Andaj jeraj utbhuj setaj Tere kitay jantaa; Ek Purab mai Tera dekhiya Tu sabna mahe raventaa.”

Your Glories abound and are so numerous, I do not know even one of them. I am ignorant, please bless me with some (of Your Glories/Attributes/Gunn); prays Nanak, listen O Master, please save me, I am a sinking stone.

“Tere Gunn bahutay mai eik na jaaneya mai murakh kich dijjay; pranvatt Nanak sunn mere Sahiba dubdaa pathar lijjay.”
