Raag Gauree Pauri no 26, Gauri Ki Vaar M.4

Guru Ji speaks of the blessed Sikhs who sit close to the Guru, and the false ones who mingle with their false deceitful friends.

The hard hearted ones do not sit close to the True Guru (i.e they do not keep the Shabad Guru close to their hearts); there (at the avastha of the Satguru), only Truth prevails, and the false ones do not set their hearts on the Truth.

“Jin ke chit kathor hai se bahe na Satgur paas; othay Sach vartadaa kurhiaara chit udhaas.”

(The false ones) pass their time by wily means and other thoughts (in Sadhsanggat) and then go back to sit with their false friends again; one may test this himself, falsehood cannot ever sit in with Truth.

“Oye vall shalh kar chatt kadh de firr jaaye bahay kuriaarha paas; vich Sache kurh na gaddaeeyi mann vekho ko nirjaas.”

The false ones mingle with their false friends while the honest Sikhs remain seated next to the Satguru. (Shabad).

“Kurhiaar kurhiaarhi jaaye ralay Sachiaar Sikh baithay Satguru paas.”
