Raag Suhi M.5.

Guru Ji starts the Shabad by describing a mayadhari. Someone who is only concerned with acquiring wealth of maya and has no qualms about lying and cheating to achieve his aims.

(Driven by greed for maya), Such a person springs out of bed early to do evil acts.

“Buray kaam ko uth khaloya.”

But when it is time for prayer, he reclines and sleeps.

“Naam ki bela peh peh soya.”

Such a person never realizes the wonderful opportunity of human life.

“Aussar apna buje na biganaa.”

Because he is enticed by the love for maya.

“Maya moh rang laptaana” (rahao).

This Shabad has 4 rahaos. The first three rahaos describe the mayadhari decaying spiritually in many ways.

In the 4th pada, Guru Ji talks of some hope. Going through the various difficulties of maya if some spark ignites in him, he will plead for the Lord’s Mercy and beg for sadhsangat.

“Kaho Nanak Prabh baksh karijay: kar kirpa mohe sadhsang dijjay”

We tend to underestimate the value of sadhsangat. It is great blessing upon you if you do sadhsangat regularly.
