Raag Gaund (Gond) M.5

Guru Ji tells us the Guru Shabad should be recited continually.

Chant the Guru’s Shabad O my mind; (have this faith), I have no one other than the Guru (Shabad).

“Guru Guru Gur kar mann morh; Guru bina mai nahi horh.”

Lean upon the Support of the Guru (Shabad), day and night; no one can decrease His Blessings.

“Gur ki tek raho dinn raat; ja ki koye na metay daat.”

Know that the Guru (Shabad) and God are One; whatever Pleases Him, becomes Acceptable.

“Gur Parmesar Eko jaan; jo Tis bhave so parvaan.” (rahao).

One whose mind is attached to the Guru’s Feet (Bani); his pains, sufferings and doubts run away; you obtain honor by serving the Guru; be eternally grateful to the Guru.

“Gur Charni ja ka mann laggey; dukh dard bhram ta ka bhaggey; Gur ki sewa paye maan; Gur upar sada kurbaan.”

Gazing upon the blessed Vision of the Guru you get exalted; the works of the Guru’s servant get Perfected; pain does not afflict the Guru’s servant; the Guru’s servant becomes renowned in all ten directions.

“Gur ka Darshan dekh nihaal; Gur ke sewak ki puran ghaal; Gur ke sewak ko dukh na biappey; Gur ka sewak deh dis jappey.”

The Guru’s Glory cannot be described; the Lord is immersed in the Guru (Shabad); Nanak says, one who is blessed with Perfect Destiny; attaches himself to the Guru’s Feet (Bani).

“Gur ki mehma katha na jaaye; Parbrahm Gur rehiya samaaye; kaho Nanak ja ke purey bhaag; Gur Charni ta ka mann laag.”
