SGGS Angg 404.

Raag Assa M.5.

A Sikh who has been blessed with Gur Parsad expresses his gratitude to the Guru, and shares some of his experiences.

By the Guru’s Grace, He dwells in my mind and I receive whatever I wish for; in the love of Naam, this mind is fully satisfied, and does not wander about anywhere, anymore.

“Gur Parsad mere mann vaseiya jo maango so paavho re; Naam rang eh mann tripatana bahur na kathu dhaavho re.”

My Lord Master is the Highest of all, night and day I sing His Praises; in an instant, He creates and destroys, I inspire you to fear Him.

Fear of God is actually “adab satkaar” of His Hukam. You must have this fear in you, that if you breach His Hukam (speak falsehoods, steal, behave in a cruel manner, be driven by lust, anger, hate, greed and ego), you will invite Divine displeasure.

At Angg 1180, Guru Arjun Dev Ji says one who has fear of God within, becomes truly fearless.

“Se Nirbhao jin bhao bheya.”

At Angg 151 Gauri M.1, we are told
” bhay bin koye na langgas paar.”

As you keep to Naam, this fear of God transforms into awe and love, a yearning for God, and finally a state of peace and perfect poise of being one with God.

Angg 1102.

“Bhay te bairaag upjay Har khojat firna; Khojat khojat sahaj upjiya firr janam na marna.”

“Hamra Thakur sabh te uchaa rein dinnas Tis gaavho re; khin me thaap uthapanhara Tis te tujhe daravho re.” (rahao).

When you behold your Lord Master, you will find you have no interest in anyone else; servant Nanak has been adorned (with Divine clothes of Gunn – Attributes of God), and all his accounts of delusion and (worldy) fear have been erased.

“Jab dekho Prabh apna Suami tao avrhe chit na paavho re; Nanak dass Prabh Aap pehraiya bhram bhao meth likhavho re.”
