Raag Suhi – Bhagat Ravidas Ji.

Bhagat Ji tells us about the perishable nature of everything in creation. Only His Name is Imperishable and can save you.

You may have lofty mansions, halls and kitchens; but when death strikes, you cannot stay in them even for an instant.

“Uche mandar saal rasoyee; ek ghari funh rehan na hoyee.”

This body is like a house of straw; when it is cremated, it mixes with the dust.

“Eh tann aisa jaise ghaas ki tattee; jal gheyo ghaas ralh gheyo mattee.” (rahao).

Even relatives, family, and friends, say “take this body out immediately.”

“Bhai bandh kutambh sahera oye bhi laage kaadh savera.”

His wife, who was so attached to his body and heart; runs away saying “ghost, ghost.”

“Ghar ki naar ureh tann laagi; oh to bhoot bhoot kar bhaagi.”

Ravidas says, the whole world gets plundered; I was saved by reciting the Name of the One All Pervading Lord.

“Kahe Ravidas sabhe jagg luteyaa; ham tao Ek Raam kahe chutiya.”
