Raag Kanrah (Kanra) M.5.

A Sikh adoringly pays tribute to the Guru and salutes Him for all that the Guru has blessed him with.

With lovely alliteration, the Sikh starts by Praises of God and says;

I bow in humble reverence to the Primal Lord, Lord of all beings.

“Narayan Narpatt Namaskarey”

I am eternally grateful to the Guru. He is liberated Himself, and he carries me across as well.

“Aisey Gur ko balh balh jaaiye Aap mukat mohe tarey” (rahao).

Which, which, which of Your Glorious Virtues should I sing? There is no end or limitation to them.

“Kavan kavan kavan gunn kahiye antt nahi kach parey.”

There are thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, many millions of them (Gunn -Virtues), but a very rare one reflects upon them.

“Lakh lakh lakh kei koray ko hai aiso bicharey.”

I am wonder struck and amazed; I am dyed in the deep crimson color of love for my Beloved.

“Bissam bissam bissam hi bheyi hai lall gulall rangarey.”

Nanak says the Saints relish this sublime essence; but like the mute who tastes something sweet, they quietly smile in ecstacy.

“Kaho Nanak Santan rass aayi hai jio chakh gunga muskarey.”
