Raag Tilang M.5

It is a long Shabad of 22 padas. This is the beginning 4 padas.

A Sikh lovingly calls out to fellow Sikhs to join him in satsanggat. He says the Guru is a Friend and tells me Stories (tells me about His Hukam, His Bhana and His Attributes over the ages), and the Sermon of the Lord; I am a sacrifice, ever grateful to the Guru.

“Har kiya katha kahaniya Gur Meet sunaiyan; balihari Gur apne Gur ko balh jaaiya.”

Come Gursikh, come join me, the Guru loves you.

“Aaye milh gursikh aaye milh tu mere Guru ke pyare.” (rahao).

The Lord’s Attributes are Pleasing to Him, and you receive these from the Guru; I am a sacrifice to those who obey the Guru’s Will.

“Har ke gunn Har bhaavde se Guru te paaye; jin Gur ka bhana manniya tin ghum ghum jaaye.”

I am devoted to those who have been blessed to gaze upon the Guru (Shabad); I am forever beholden to those who have done service for the Guru.

“Jin Satgur pyara dekhiya tin ko hao vaari; jin Gur ki kitti chakri tin sadh balihari.”

Lord, Your Name destroys all pain and sorrows; as you serve the Guru you get blessed with the Name, and as a gurmukh one is taken across (liberated).

“Har Har Tera Naam hai dukh metanhaara; Gur sewa te paaiyeh gurmukh nistaraa.”
