Raag Bihagara M. 5
This Shantt has 4 padas. This is the 3rd pada. It is a plea by a Sikh who acknowledges all his foolishness and faults.
Lord, You are All Powerful and Great while I have little understanding; (in Your Kindness), You cherish even the ungrateful ones – Your Glance of Grace is Perfect.
“Tu Samrath vadda meri matt thori Raam; paaleh akritghana puran dhrist Teri Raam.”
Your wisdom is beyond fathom O Infinite Creator Lord. I am lowly and know nothing; I am such an ignorant beast, having forsaken the Jewel (of Naam) and hoarded shells.
“Agaadh Bodh Apaar Karte mohe neech kachu na jaana; Rattan tyaag sangrahan kaudi pasu neech eiyaana.”
I took on so much pain to accumulate what is very fickle, and which will surely abandon me; Nanak has taken the Sanctuary of the Almighty Lord and Master – please preserve my honor.
“Tyaag chalti maha chanchal dokh kar kar jorhi; Nanak Sharan Samrath Suami paij rakho mori.”
