Raag Kanrah M.4

Kanre Ki Vaar M.4, has 15 pauris. This is pauri no. 2. The pauri is a polite address to God, Praising Him, and recounting the Infinite blessings He gives to all.

Your Light is in all; You are the Life Force in the world; in each and every heart, You lovingly Sport; all meditate upon You; O my Beloved, You are the True, Eternal, Immaculate, Primal Being.

“Sabh Jote Teri Jagjeevna Tu ghat ghat Har rang rangnaa; sabh dhiaave Tudh mere Preetma Tu Sat Sat Purakh Niranjna.”

You are the One Giver, all in the whole world are beggars. All beggars beg for Your Gifts;
You are the servant and the Master too. Through the Guru’s Teachings one gets ennobled and uplifted.

“Eik Dataa sabh jagat bhikareiya Har jache sabh mang mangnaa; sewak Thakur sabh Tu hai Tu hai Gurmatti Har changh changhna.”

Let us all recite the Name of the Lord of the Senses, the Master of all faculties, by reciting, you get all fruits and rewards.

“Sabh kaho mukho Rikhikesh Hare Rikhikesh Hare jit pavhe sabh falh falhnaa.”

Rikhi kesh literally means the hair of a Rishi in a reference to Vishnu. Rikhi also means senses, while kesh here refers to Lord i.e. Lord of the Senses i.e. of our entire body. The famous town in India, Rishikesh carries this meaning. It is believed by the Hindus that, if you bathe at the Ganges here, all your senses will come under control. In the pauri , the name Rishikesh is used for the Formless Lord, as the first line has already clearly stated His Jote is pervading all.‎
