Raag Assa – Bani Bhagat Namdev Ji.

Bhagat Ji tells us about the Infinite Attributes, and limitless forms created by God. In all creation, He is permeating and pervading.

One has Infinite forms and He pervades all. Wherever I gaze, I see only Him; the marvellous images of maya are fascinating and attractive. A rare one understands this.

“Ek Anek Biapak Purak jat dekho tatt soyee; maya chitar bachitar bimohit birla bujhay koyee.”

God is everywhere in everything. There is nothing (or no one) without God; as one thread holds hundreds of thousands of beads, He is threaded (woven) into His creation.

“Sabh Gobind hai sabh Gobind hai Gobind bin nahi koyee; Soot Ek man sat sahans jaise ote pote Prabh soyee.” (rahao).

The waves of the water, the foam and bubbles are not distinct from the water; the manifested world of five elements is the Playful Drama (Sport) of the Lord, it cannot be separated from Him.

“Jal tarang aur fehn budbuda jal te bhin na hoyee; eh parpanch Parbrahm ki leela bichratt aan na hoyee.”

Misconceptions, illusions and dream objects, man believes them to be real  (true, imperishable); the Guru instructed me to do good deeds, and as my mind awakened, it became receptive. (accepted the Guru’s Teachings).

“Mithiya bharam aur supan manorath Sat padarath jaaneiya; sokrit mansa Gur updesi jaagat hi mann maaneiya.”

Says Namdev, reflect upon God’s creation in your heart; the One Lord dwells within every heart, and deep within the nucleus of all.

“Kahat Namdeo Har ki rachna dekho riday bichari; ghat ghat antar sarab nirantar keval Ek Murari.”
