SGGS Angg 396.
Raag Assa M.5.
A Sikh commits himself totally to God and sings His Praises.
I am Your purchased slave O my True Lord Master; my soul and body, and everything else, belongs to You.
“Mai banda beh khareed Sach Sahib mera; jio pind sabh Tis da sabh kich hai Tera.”
You are the honour of the dishonored ones, O Master I place my trust in You; besides the True One, any other support is false, know this well.
“Maan nimane Tu Dhani Tera bharvasa; bin Sache ann tek hai so jaano kaacha.” (rahao).
Your Command is Infinite, none can find it’s limits; one who meets with the Perfect Guru (Shabad), walks in the Way of Your Will.
“Tera Hukam apaar hai koyee antt na paaye; jis Gur Pura bhetsi so chaley rajaiye.”
Cunning and cleverness are of no use (they cannot prevail against You); one finds true peace only by what the Lord Himself is Pleased to bestow.
“Chatrayee sianpaa kitay kaam na aaiyeh; tutha Sahib jo devay soyee sukh paaiyeh.”
One may perform thousands of actions (rituals), yet there will be no stop to greed (the meaning here is similar to Sukhmani Sahib Ast 2 – “lakh karori bandh na pare; Har ka Naam japat nistarey”); servant Nanak has made Naam his Support, and abandoned all other tasks (devices, methods).
“Je lakh karam kamaaiyeh kich pavhe na bandha; jan Nanak kita Naam dhar hor chodiya dhanda.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated on June 27, 2026:
In life, we face all kinds of difficulties.
There are times where you stand totally humiliated. All relatives and friends desert you. Even children, who you bore and raised with love, rebel against you. All investments go bad.
In the face of such horrible situations, only the Lord, who resides within you, can restore your maan, your ijjat, your patt, your laaj. You must have full faith (bharvasa) in Him, that these times too will pass, and you will blossom again.
There will be numerous persons who will suggest you try other methods, rely on others. If you do, and your tek shifts from Naam, you are rendered “kaacha” (impure, perishable).
Only total faith in Naam can bestow the fallen ones with Divine Dignity and Honour.
” Maan nimaane Tu Dhani Tera Bharvasa.”
Any other reliance (ann tek) distances you from God and removes your chances of recovery.
“Bin Sache ann tek hai so jaanho kacha.”
In the Land Offices of Punjab and Lahore, when a title deed is transferred to a buyer for a price, the Land Registry will record “Bae Khareed” on the Registry title.
“Bae Khareed” means sold for some valuable consideration (price) and the transaction cannot be undone.
In this Shabad, a Sikh declares his loyalty to the Guru, and says, I am Your purchased (bae khareed) slave (banda). You are my True Master. (Sach Sahib mera).
My soul, my body, and everything else belongs to You (is surrendered to You).
“Jio pind sabh Tis da sabh kich hai Tera.”
You are the Dhani (Master) and I place my trust in You. (Tera bharvasa). You bestow honor to the downcast and dishonored ones. (Maan nimaane Tu Dhani).
