Raag Ramkali M.5

Guru Arjun Dev Ji’s fascinating Shabad about various religious practices and beliefs. There may be tremendous differences, but Guru Ji says, only if you recognize/understand His Hukam, can You know the Lord’s Mystery.

Some call Him “Raam Raam,” some call Him “Khudaii”; some serve Him as “Gosain,” some as “Allah.”

“Koyee bole Raam Raam koyee Khudaii; koyee sevay Gusaeiyan koyee Allahe.”

He is, the Cause of Causes, the Generous Lord; He showers His Grace and Mercy upon us.

“Kaaran Karan Kareem; Kirpa Dhaar Raheem.” (rahao).

Some bathe at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, some make the pilgrimage to Mecca; some perform devotional worship services, and some bow their heads in prayer.

“Koyee naveh tirath koyee hajj jayeh; koyee kareh pujaa koyee sirr nivayeh.”

Some read the Vedas and some their Holy Books; some wear blue robes, and some wear white.

“Koyee parhe Bedh koyee Kateb; koyee odhe neel koyee supedh.”

Some call themselves Muslim and some call themselves Hindu; some yearn for paradise, and some for Indra’s heaven.

“Koyee kahe Turak koyee kahe Hindu; koyee bashe Bhahist koyee Surgindu.”

Nanak says, one who recognizes His Hukam; knows the Mystery of the Lord.

“Kaho Nanak jin Hukam pechataa; Prabh Sahib ka tin bhedh jataa.”
