Raag Kanrah

A Sikh pleads for Sanctuary of the Satguru and requests blessings of Naam. After the rahao, his prayers are answered and he now leads a blessed life with Naam.

Give me that blessing O dear Saints (Guru), unto which my soul would be a sacrifice; I am enticed by pride, entrapped and plundered by the five thieves, living in their vicinity. I seek the Sanctuary of the holy (Guru) who can rescue me from these demons.

“Aiso daan deho Santho jaat jio balihaar; maan mohee panch dohee urjh nikatt bassio taki Sharan Sadhua doot sang nivaar.” (rahao).

I have wandered through millions of lifetimes and incarnations. I am exhausted and have fallen at Your Door.

“Kote janam john bhramiyo haar bhariyo dwar.”

The Lord was Kind to me and Gifted me with the Support of Naam; this precious life has now become fruitful and prosperous. Nanak says, he has been carried across the terrifying world ocean.

“Kirpa Gobind bheyee miliyo Naam adhaar; dulabh janam saffal Nanak bhav utaar paar.”
