Raag Bilaaval (Bilawal) M.5

We read lots of material and get all kinds of information. Some become “experts” in their respective fields. That is mere worldy knowledge, which is finite and limited. True enilghtenment comes from within. That gyan anjjan is Infinite and destroys all “agyan andher.” This gyan anjjan is given internally by the Guru (Shabad) in His Grace. Thus.

“Gyan anjjan Gur diya agyan andher binaas.”

In this Shabad, the Sikh pleads for pargas of gyan in his heart. As enlightenment comes, all sins and pains are erased.

“Dass Tere ki bentee ridh kar pargass; Tumri kirpa te Parbrahm dokhan ko nass.”

I have taken the Support of Your Lotus Feet (Bani), O Primal Lord, Treasure of all Virtues; I sing Your Praises in remembrance as long as there is breath in my body.

“Charan Kamal ka aasraa Prabh Purakh Guntaas; Kirtan Naam simrat raho jab lag ghat saas.”

You are my Mother and Father and True Relative. You abide in all; Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God. His Praises are Immaculate and Pure.

“Maat Pita Bandap Tu hai Tu sarab nivaas; Nanak Prabh Sarnagatee ja ko Nirmal jaas.”
