Raag Gurjri M.5

Gujri Ki Vaar M.5 has 21 Pauris. This is the opening Slok of the Vaar.

Guru Ji tells us deep within ourselves, we should worship and adore the Lord and recite the Lord’s Name with our tongues.

“Antar Gur aradhna jehva jap Gur Naao.”

Let your eyes behold the True Guru (Shabad), and let your ears hear the Naam given by the Guru.

“Netree Satgur pekhna sarvanee sunanaa Gur Naao.”

Drenched with love for the Satguru (Shabad), you shall receive a place of honour in the Court of the Lord.

“Satgur seti rateyia Dargah paiyeh thaao.”

Nanak says, this Treasure (Naam) is bestowed on those who are blessed with His Mercy.

“Kaho Nanak kirpa kare jis nu eh vath deh.”

In the midst of the world some very rare ones are known as the most exalted (pious).

“Jag me uttam kadhiye virley keyi kaye.”
