Raag Assa M.5.

It is most fortunate if you take to Naam. Your entire destiny will become blessed.

The Shabad starts with gratitude to God.

God, one who has You as his Master, is most fortunate; he becomes happy and is forever at peace; his superstitions and fears are removed.

“Ja ka Thakur Tuhi Prabh ta ke vadbhaga; oh suhela sada sukhi sabh bhram bhao bhagga.”

We should have these thoughts in our minds as we take to God’s Sharan. I am a slave of the Lord. He is the Greatest of all. He is the Creator, the Cause of causes, my Eternal Perfect Guru.

“Ham chakar Gobind ke Thakur mera bhara; karan karavan sagal bidh so Satguru hamara.” (rahao).

Since there is no other, why should I have any fears; serving the Guru, you are received into the Palace of the Lord (Daswa Dwar), and you cross the world ocean.

“Dujja nahi aur ko ta ka bhao kariye; Gur sewa Mahal paiyeh jag duttar tariyeh.”

By Your Glance of Grace, Peace is obtained and the Treasure (Naam), fills the mind; that servant unto whom You grant Your Mercy, becomes approved and accepted.

“Dhrist Teri sukh paiyeh man mahe Nidhanaa; ja ko Tum kirpal bhaye sewak se parvanaa.”

How rare is that person who drinks in the Ambrosial Essence of the Lord’s Praises; Nanak has been blessed with Ek Naam and I live by chanting His Name in my heart.

“Amrit rass Har kirtano ko virla piveh; Vajho Nanak milh Ek Naam ridh jap jap jivhe.”
