SGGS Angg 870.

Raag Gaund (Gond) Bhagat Kabir Ji.

Bhagat Ji tells us about karmas. We commit an act but we do not know the consequent fruit of that act as He decides. If you give one slap to another in anger, He decides whether you will receive ten slaps or a hundred slaps at some time or other as He is the Karam Bidhata.
Thus we carry millions of karmic acts/fruits we must receive at some time or other, whether in this life or in some other form. Only Naam can wipe out these karmas/fruits of our actions. Whatever seeds we plant, the fruits have to be eaten by us. “Aape beej aape hi khaao.”
Only Naam can cut away the karmic fruits written as your lot. At Angg 1195, Bhagat Ramanand Ji says
“Gur ka Shabad katte kote karam.”

At Angg 55, Guru Nanak Dev Ji tells us “Bin Gur karam na chutsee….”

Bhagat Ji starts by telling us of the useless nature of man’s dead body. But when an animal dies it can be used in ten ways (many ways – leather, meat, hides, shoes etc).

“Naru mareh nar kaam na aave; passu mare dass kaaj savaare.”

What do I know about the consequences of my conduct?; what can I claim to know O Lord.

“Aapne karam ki gatt mai kya jaano; mai kya jaano Baba re.” (rahao).

(The body which did so many karmas), its bones burn away like a bundle of logs; the hair burns to a crisp like a bale of hay.

“Haadh jalle jaise lakri ka toola; kesh jalle jaise ghaas ka poola.”

Kabir says, man only wakes up (i.e. is jolted into realization); when the messenger of death strikes his head with a club.

“Kaho Kabir tabh hi nar jaage; jamm ka dandh moondh me laage.”
