Raag Ramkali M.5.
Had to listen 50-60 times to let the Profound Divine Wisdom of this Shabad seep in.
Still cannot lay claim that I have absorbed the full import of the Shabad
What little I was blessed to know, has been expressed in the Write Up.
Please listen to this Shabad many times and in His Kindness, let Shabad Guru Ji Enlighten your suratt.
This Shabad is very difficult to Fathom. As the Rahao states, it describes the World Play of Creation from the lens of a Brahm Gyani – an Enlightened Soul.
“Brahm Gyani Mil Karo Bichara; Eh To Chalatt Bheya.” (Rahao).
The Soul never dies. A body of 5 elements houses the Soul. The 5 elements dissipate at the time appointed by God. If the Soul (Jeev) has lekhas still left, it then is sent to enter another body of 5 elements.
In this Shabad, the 1st part until the Rahao speaks of the Soul (Jeev) of a Brahm Gyani, an Enlightened Soul whose lekhas have been wiped out whilst still physically alive, i.e. the Brahm Gyani is jiwan mukat. When such a Brahm Gyani sheds his physical body, his last breath merges with the surrounding air.
“Pavane me pavan samaiiya”
The Jote (Divine Spark of Enlightenment, which lies in his Jeev (Soul), now Merges with God at His Plane. Earlier the Merger had already taken place in the Brahm Gyani’s body. Now, upon physical death, the Jote returns to forever Unite with the Joti, the Creator. Thus,
“Joti Me Jote Rall Jaiya.”
The rest of the elements, turn to dust and mingle with the earth.
“Maati Maati Hoyi Ek.”
When such a Brahm Gyani dies, why should anyone cry for him,?
After all he was blessed to Return/Merge with his Divine Origin, where he is a free Soul, no longer subject to Janam Maran.
“Rovanhare Ki Kavan Tek.”
Bhagat Kabir Ji describes the silly lamenting upon the death of a Brahm Gyani at Angg 1365.
“Kabir Sant Muee Kya Royiye Jo Apne Greh Jaaiye; Rovho Saakat Bapre Jo Haate Haat Bikaiye.”
Kabir, why cry upon the death of a Saint? He has just gone to his True Home; One should weep in pity for the sakat (one who indulged in energies of maya), who will be sold from shop to shop (i.e. reincarnated in many bodies).
Now, the Brahm Gyani, the Enlightened, Liberated Soul says, those without Enlightenment, have no idea what awaits them upon physical death.
“Aglee kich khabar na paiyee”
Those who are lamenting their deaths will soon depart themselves.
“Rovanhar bhi uth sidaiyee”
They are all caught in delusions and attachments .
“Bharam moh ke baandhe bandh”
They are blind in ignorance, caught in a dream (nightmare) and babble and grieve in pain.
“Suppan bheya bhakhlaiye andh”
The Enlightened Jeev further states. This Whole Play of His Creation has been put in place by the Lord Himself.
“Eh To Rachan Rachieya Kartar.”
His Infinite Will declares that the jeevs must come and go.
“Aavat Jaawat Hukam Apaar.”
No jeev dies, nor is capable of dying.
“Neh Ko Muaa Na Marne Jogh”
The Jeev (Soul) cannot perish and is Imperishable.
“Neh Binse Abhinasi Hogh”
The mortals belief is a fallacy, it is not the Truth.
“Jo Eh Jaano So Eh Nahe”
Truly Blessed are those who know the Reality of Things.
“Jananhare Ko Bal Jao”
Nanak says, the Guru (Shabad) has dispelled my doubts.
“Kaho Nanak Gur Bharam Chukaiya”
No one really dies, nor comes and goes.
“Na Ko Mare Na Aave Jaaiya.”
