Wonderful Shabad which tells us of the joys of Singing His Praises. Guru Ji also says, God Himself is the Real Speaker in all Nature.

“Kathata Bakata Sunnta Soyee” (Ang 152).

This Shabad is in partaal, where the beat of the tabla, changes pace quickly with the wording of the Shabad. Taal means beat. To “parat”, means to change beats half way, or as the structure of the Shabad requires.

The Sikh, the humble servant of God (Har Jan) recites the Lord’s Name in Sadhsanggat.

“Har Jan Bolat Sri Raam Nama Mil Sadhsanggat Har Tor.” (Rahao).

Guru Ji says the Sikh should deal only with the Lord’s Wealth (Har Dhan), i.e. always conduct himself with Sincerity and Truth. Such Wealth cannot be ever stolen (unlike worldly wealth).

“Har Dhan Banjho Har Dhan Sancho Jis Laagat Hai Nahi Chor”

In the physical world the rainbirds (chatrik) and the peacocks (mor) sing and shriek with delight at the sounds of thunder (as it tells them of impending rain, blessings and joy from the heavens)

“Chatrik Mor Bolatt Din Raati Sun Ghanhar Ki Ghor”

Whatever is spoken by the deer, the fish and the birds, it is the Lord Himself who Speaks, and no other.

“Jo Bolatt Hai Mrig Meen Pankheru Bin Har Jaapat Hai Nahi Hor”

Nanak, as the humble servant Sings His Praises, the sound and fury of death
(miseries) just goes away.

“Nanak Jan Har Keerat Gayee Choot Gyo Jam Ka Sabh Sor.”
