Guru Ji speaks of the whole World Play and the Inner Journey in the language of Commerce.
The Sikh says he has wandered through many foreign lands in the hope of doing business. While doing business I heard of an Incomparable, Unique Commodity. I gathered that Commodity of Godly Virtues (Gunn Raas, Naam), and tied it tightly to myself. As I saw closely, I realised the Commodity was a Priceless Jewel, and gazing upon it, my mind was fascinated (mesmerised).
“Pardes chagh saudeh ko aaya; Vassat Anoop sunni labhaiya; Gunn Raas Banh palleh aani; dekh Rattan eh mann laptaani.”
I told the Trader (Guru) I have come to Your Door; please display all Your Merchandise, (Infinite Gunn of God – Shabads) so that business may be transacted.
“Shah vapaari Dware aaye; Vakhar kadho saudah karaiye.”
(Rahao).
The Trader (Guru, Shabad) led me to the Banker (Nirankar Ji); all the Jewels He gave were Priceless and they formed a Priceless Capital; I was fortunate to meet my True Friend, Brother and Mediator ( he Satguru); I received the Divine Merchandise, and my consciousness is now steady and stable.
“Shahe pathaiya Shahe paas; Amol Rattan Amola Raas; Visst Sobhai Paaiya Meet; Saudah Miliya Nichal Cheet.”
This Merchandise cannot be stolen by thieves, nor eroded by wind or water; It (Naam) is Purchased with Love and taken away with Love; as Truth (Naam) is earned, there can never be any pain forever more; the Merchandise has brought me to my True Home, Safe and Sound.
“Bhao nahi taskar paun na paani; Sahaj Vihajee Sahaj Le Jaani; Sat ke khatiye dukh nahi paaiya; Sahi Salamat Ghar Le Aaya.”
In this whole exercise, I earned Profits, and Inner Bliss; Blessed is the Banker, the Perfect Forgiver; it is a rare Gurmukh who actually obtains this Merchandise (Naam); the Profitable Merchandise has brought Nanak Home.
“Miliya Laha Bhye Anand; Dhan Shah Puray Bhakshind; Eh Saudah Gurmukh kinne virle paaiya; Sahli Khep Nanak Leh Aaya.”
