Raag Jaithshree M.4.

Guru Ji says we must continuously do simran of God, who is Aggam (Unreachable by physical means, met only by Shabad Suratt and Gur Parsad), and Apara (Infinite, cannot be contained in any picture or idol as He is Jote Saroop); the assurance is that as you lovingly engage in His Simran, your pains will vanish; please Unite me with the Satguru (Shabad), so I may enjoy Eternal Peace.

“Har Har Simro Aggam Apara; Jis simrat dukh mittay hamara; Har Har Satgur Melho Gur Miliye Sukh Hoyi Raam”

The Satguru assures, I treat you as a friend, (i.e. do not be stiff with me. Discipline is good, but it is love that wins Him over), Sing His Praises; Enshrine Him in your heart; Please let me listen to Your Ambrosial (Amrit) Bani and as I Merge into the Bani, God Himself manifests (Pargat) from within.

“Har Gunn Gavho Meet Hamare; Har Har Naam Rakho Urh Dhare; Har Har Amrit Bachan Sunavho Gur Miliye Pargat Hoyi Raam”

In pada 3, Guru Ji says the blessings from simran result in realisation that God gives you the breath of life and destroys all demons; God blesses you with His Love (meeth lagaana) and gives you Ambrosia (Amrit Naam); the Sikh pleads now, God please Unite me with the Shabad Guru, the Guru who is Immaculate (Niranjan), not affected by maya.

“Madhusudhan Har Madho Prana; Mere mann tann Amrit meeth lagaana; Har Har Dya Karo Gur Melho Purakh Niranjan Soyee Raam”

In the final pada (4), the Sikh gushes in gratitude.
God’s Name always brings peace; my mind is drenched with Love for God; please Merge with the Wisest Being the Shabad Guru. Through Naam from Guru Nanak, I have found Eternal Peace.

“Har Har Naam Sada Sukhdata; Har Ke Rang mera mann raata; Har Har Maha Purakh Har Melho Gur Nanak Naam Sukh Hoyee Raam.”
