Raag Gauree – Sukhmani Sahib.

This is pada 2 of Astpadhi 14.

Guru Ji instructs the mind, and various limbs and organs of the body.

We are told to Praise the Formless Lord in our minds; and the mind must engage in a True Occupation (i.e. only engage in thoughts guided by Bani, Gurmatt).

“Ustat mann me kar Nirankaar; kar mann mere Sat biohaar.”

Purify your tongue by drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar (reciting His Naam); your inner being shall be forever peaceful.

“Nirmal rasnaa Amrit peeyo; sada suhela kar leh jeeyo.”

With your eyes, see the wondrous colors of the Lord (His fascinating Kudrat); in the company of the holy all other associations (of maya) will vanish.

“Naino pekh Thakur ka rang; Sadhsang binsay sabh sang.”

With your feet, walk on the Pathway to God (live in His Hukam); sins are washed away chanting the Lord’s Name, even for a moment.

“Charan chalo Marag Gobind; mittay paap japiye Har bindh.”

Do the Lord’s Work (engage in His sewa), and listen to the Lord’s Sermon (Gurbani); Nanak says, in the Lord’s Court, your face shall be radiant.

“Kar Har karam sarvan Har Katha; Har Dargeh Nanak ujjal matha.”
