Raag Bihagara (Bihagda) M.3.

Guru Ji tells us about different aspects of dying and living. Physical death occurs to all. With the Grace of the Satguru  (Shabad), one should kill off all passions, subdue the ego and remain dead internally, whilst still being physically alive.

Guru Ji says when this world gets wisdom it remains dead while still (physically) alive; one is spiritually asleep when He puts you to slumber. One awakens spiritually when He allows him to be spiritually awakened.

“Eh jagat jivatt marey ja eis no sojhi hoye; ja ti swaliya ta sav rehiya jagaiye ta sudh hoye.”

Nanak says, when He Casts His Glance of Grace, He causes him (the Sikh) to meet the True Guru (Shabad); by Guru’s Grace (such a Sikh) remains dead (to all worldliness) while alive and shall never have to die again.

“Nanak nadar kare je apni Satgur melay soye; Gur Parsad jivatt mare ta firr maran na hoye.”
