We often get people telling us, “you must surrender yourself to God.” Guru Ji tells us how to do so through this Shabad. Do ardas. Read the Shabad many times. Reflect upon it. Slowly, the full impact of the Shabad will seep into you with the Guru’s Grace and you would have surrendered sahaj subhai to God.

An inner realization will take place as the Guru (Shabad) gives gyan anjjan from within. By surrendering you accept His Will and at the same time erode your ego.

I only do that which You inspire me to do; I have no cleverness at all; I am Your child and have taken Your Sanctuary; God Himself preserves my honor.

“Soyee karaye jo Tudh bhaave; mohe siannap kachu na aave; ham barak Tao Sarnayee; Prabh Aape paij rakhaiyee.”

O Lord King, You are my Mother and Father; in Your Mercy You cherish me, and I do whatever You make me do.

“Mera Maat Pita Har Raiya; kar Kirpa Pritpalan laaga kari Tera karaeya.” (rahao).

All beings and creatures exist with Your Support; God, their reins are in Your Hands; whatever You cause us to do, we do; Nanak Your slave has taken Your Sanctuary.

“Jee jantt Tere dharey; Prabh dori Haath Tumare; jeh karave so karna; Nanak daas Teri Sharna.”
