Raag Bilavaal (Bilawal) M.5

Guru Ji tells us about “Laal rang” – love for God. In Gurbani, it is also referred to as majitha rang. It is a “Sachee preet,” which lasts here are hereafter. It is an inner color of love. One may be very dark skinned. If he has “Laal rang,” it refers to his inner radiance of his jeev, not the external color of his skin.

Guru Ji says, one who is blessed with great good fortune, gets dyed in the color of the Lord’s Love; such a color can never be muddied, nor can it be stained.

“Laal rang tis ko lagga jis ke vadbhaga; maila kadhe na hovaiye neh lagge dagga.”

Such a person joyfully meets God, the Giver of Peace; the Celestial Lord blends into him and the merger is eternal.

“Prabh paiya Sukhdaiya miliya sukh bhaye; sahaj samana bhitray chodiya neh jaaye.” (rahao).

(With this color of God’s Love), old age and death cannot touch him, and he will never suffer pain again; drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar (Naam), the Guru (Shabad), makes him immortal.

“Jra mra neh viapayee firr dukh neh paiieya; pee Amrit aaghaniya Gur amar karaiieya.”

He alone knows the relish, who has tasted the Priceless Name of the Lord; it’s value can never be stated what can one express with his mouth?

“So jaane jin chakhya Har Naam amola; keemat kahi na jaiiyeh kya keh mukh bola.”

Lord, fruitful is Your Darshan, and Your Bani is the Treasure of Virtue; Nanak is a sacrifice unto You. Please bless me with the dust of the feet of Your slaves.

“Safal Daras Tera Parbrahm Gunn Nidh Teri Bani; pavho dhur Tere dass ki Nanak kurbani.”
