Shalok Bhagat Kabir Ji
SGGS Ji Ang 1376
Bhagat Kabir Ji is using the imagery of atta gone to waste as it falls into a mud patch.
As the atta was being grinded she put some corn in her mouth to eat.
Only those few beads of corn were of any use to her, as the rest of the corn which was ground into atta was wasted, as it fell on the ground.
Kabir Ji is saying only those moments of our life where we digest Naam are of any use. The rest of life is like valuable atta (breaths) gone to waste.
Kabeer keechaṛ aataa gir pariaa kichhoo na aaio haaṫh.
Kabir! The flour has fallen into the mud; nothing has come into my hands.
Peesaṫ peesaṫ chaabiaa soee nibhiaa saath. ||215||
That which was eaten while it was being ground – that alone is of any use. ||215||”
