Shabad Veechar of Raag Gauree SGGS Ang 332-335 on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Damansara Darbar by Bhai Manjeet Singh Ji followed by simran.

Ang 332, 333, 334, 335

Among the many Shabads discussed on Sunday was Shabad no. 51 on Angg 334.
The entire Bani of SGGS Ji says that only Naam can lead to Union with God within you. We therefore find many Shabads where the Gurus and Bhagats speak of various other methods besides Naam used by yogis, pandits, vidhvaans, and all kinds of sadhus.

In that Shabad, Bhagat Kabir Ji says, the yogi claims that only yogic methods (pranayams, asanas, piercing of the ears etc) will yield sweet results.
“Jogi kahe jog falh mitha avar na dujja bhai.”

Some amputate their limbs (some yogis even castrate themselves to say they have conquered lust. Some will cut off a hand and say they will never steal or harm others. Such yogis who amputate limbs are known as “rundatts”), some shave themselves bald to shave off all their past karmas and bad luck. Some will only recite one word like “Alakh.” All such persons claim to have achieved perfection by their methods.
“Rundatt mundatt ekay shabadi eh kahe sidh paayi.”

In the Rahao, Bhagat Ji declares that by turning away from the Lord, i.e. from Naam, all such persons are deluded and full of misconceptions. And, if you go to such persons, hoping to find liberation, you will only end up in further bondages.
“Har bin bharam bhulane andha; ja peh jaao aap chutkavan te bandhe baho phanda.” (Rahao).

When the inner consciousness (suratt) is absorbed in it’s Divine Origin i.e. in God within ourselves, then one leaves all such erroneous methods and paths; yet, the pandits, the brahmins, the warriors, and the charitable ones, all believe they alone (and their methods) are great (are the best).
“Jeh te upji tahee samanee eh bidh bisree tabh hi; pandit gunni surh ham datey eh kahe badh ham hi.”

On the Spiritual Path, Enlightenment comes with His Grace and without such Understanding what can ever be achieved?; it is only when you Unite internally with the Satguru (Shabad) that your ignorant darkness disappears and the Jewel (of Naam) is obtained.
“Jishe bujhaye soyi bujhe bin bujhe kyo lahiye; Satgur milhe andhera chukhe ein bidh manak lahiye.”

Bhagat Kabir Ji concludes that one should abandon veering left and right into all kinds of methods (which only lead to ruin) and one should hold tight to the Feet of the Lord (Bani, Naam); and as one is blessed with inner ecstacy of Naam, he is like a mute who has tasted Sweetness but cannot express the sheer delight of such taste (experience).
“Taj bahve dahne bikaara Har Padh dhirh kar rehiye; Kaho Kabir gunge gurh khaiya puche te kya kahiye.”
