Raag Basant – Ang 1182-1189 @Parliament

Shabad Veechar of Raag Basant SGGS Ang 1182-1189 by Bhai Manjeet Singh Ji followed by simran at GS Parliament on Monday, 17 April, 2023.

Shabad Viakhya started from Shabad no. 9, Angg 1182 – “Jis bolatt mukh pavit hoye.”

The theme of Sadh Basant continues through the Bani of Raag Basant. However, as one reads the Asthpadhis from Angg 1187 onwards, a stern note can be detected. Guru Ji speaks about those who do not strive for Sadh Basant in their minds with Naam. The Gurus tell of terrible consequences if one wastes his life in the chase for maya and does nothing to erase the poisonous influence of the 5 vikaars. Despite the stern note, Gurbani is ever optimistic and towards the end of each Asthpadhi Guru Ji assures one can be saved if he takes to Naam in the Guru’s Sharan and leads a virtuous life with Gurmatt.
