SGGS Angg 518 – Raag Gujri M.5
SGGS Angg 989 – Raag Maru M.1
This Slok appears twice in SGGS Ji. Once in Raag Gujri, where it is attributed to Guru Arjun Dev Ji, and once in Raag Maru as being expressed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
There are many other Sloks and Shabads which have been attributed to more than one Guru Sahib. As the Gurus had the same Jote, it is not surprising to have one Guru Sahib quote an earlier Shabad or Slok, and to treat it as expressed by himself.
The final Slok of Japji Sahib is found with some minor changes as Slok M.2 in Majh Ki Vaar (Ang 146).
The Slok “niflang tas janamas jaavad Brahm na bindatey” is given as Slok M.2 at Angg 148, while the same Slok is given as Slok M.1 at Slok Sehskritee, Angg 1353.
There are quite a few other instances in SGGS Ji.
In this Slok, the jeev isteri expresses her desire to remain in utter humility at the Feet of her Beloved Husband Lord.
O my dear Friend I shall forever be the dust of Your Feet. (cherish Your Bani with love and humility).
“Saajan Tere Charan ki hoye raha sada dhur.”
Nanak has taken Your Sanctuary and beholds You ever present, here and now.
“Nanak Sharan Tuhariya pekho sada hajoor.”
