SGGS Ang 1003

Raag Maroo

All of us are indeed a tiny insignificant dot in His Boundless Universe.
It is our ego which separates us from our Core Essence, the Aap within ourselves.

Once the appa (self conceit) goes, the Aap surfaces and you are left Speechless. In Awe.

Gurbani states the Universe was created by a single Mystical Sound – “Ek kavavhe te sabh hova.” (Ang 1003)

Apart from the Infinite Vastness of the Universe, it also indicates the Boundless Power of the Lord. Just by willing so, from Nothing, all forms were created.

Of all species created, mortals are the prime of Creation, and taking the Sharan of a Satguru, relying upon Shabad, with Gur Parsad, one can Merge into this Matchless Creator, and if He so wishes, He can bless you with Darshan.

It is our haumai, and the ineffable maya which separates us from God.

When Gur Parsad happens, all that separates you from Him is removed by the Guru’s Shabad.

“Oye jo beech ham Tum kach sang hotay tin ki baat bilanee.” (Ang 671).

No one can ever Fathom the Vastness of His Creation.

“Koye na jaane Tera keta kewad cheera.” (Ang 348).

The Vastness of His Expanse is stressed at numerous places in SGGS Ji to drive home a sense of awe and wonder at His Kudrat which is beyond comprehension.

Besides the Infinite Vastness, Gurbani also stresses that God is present in the entire fabric of the Universe and everything is interconnected, since He is Everywhere.

“Jeh jeh dekha teh Har Prabh soye; sabh Tere vass dujja avar na koye.”(Ang 1134).

One does not have to physically go out to the Universe to see it’s Vastness.
Everything is contained within the human body, and with Gur Parsad, you can see the solar systems, the galaxies, the countless suns and moons.

“Chaudeh bhavan Tere hatnaale; Satgur dikhaye antar naale.” (Ang 1062)

“Mere Karte Eik bannat bannayi; Eis dehi vich sabh vath paayi.” (Ang 1063)

Apart from His Boundless Creation, the Creator is so Vast, Powerful and Infinite that words can hardly describe His Glory.

In Japji Sahib, Guru Nanak Dev Ji says, to even say He is Asankh (Infinite, Beyond Count) is to carry some weight upon yourself, because such words cannot truly describe His Glory, Greatness, and Vastness.

“Asankh kahe sir paar hoye.”

In Japji Sahib, Guru Ji says as one is blessed to reach Sachkhand, there one will find, planets, solar systems and galaxies, and if one speaks of them, there is no end or limit. There are worlds and worlds of His Creation. As He Commands, they exist.

“Thithe khand mandal varbhand; je ko Kathe ta antt na antt; tithe loh loh akaar; jiv jiv Hukam tive tiv kaar. ”
