SGGS Ang 133

Raag Gauree -Barah Maha

As we celebrate Baisakhi, Khalsa Sajna Diwas, we must never forget the Teachings of SGGS Ji, in relation to the month of Baisakh.

Using the jeev isteri imagery, Guru Ji poses a question. How can the separated ones (vaadiaan) be comforted (dhiran), when the pangs of separation from their Beloved, tug at their hearts?

Unfortunately, they have allowed the deceit (dhoh) of maya to forsake their Saajan.

Some realisation sets in. Neither children, spouse, nor wealth will go with them. Only the Lord is Avinasee (Eternal).

Guru Ji concludes the Shabad by saying Vaisakh is only suhava (beautiful, blessed), when the Saint (Guru) causes me to Meet the Lord.

“Vaisakh suhava ta lagge ja Har Sant bhete Har soye.”

As the sanggat comes together on Sangrand to Sing the Lord’s Praises, listen intently to this Shabad about Baisakh, relate it yourselves, and reflect upon how far or close you are, to the Pritam who resides within.

Make sincere efforts to go deep within yourselves, and pray that “Sant bhete Har soye” becomes a reality within you.
