Pauri No 3 Bihagde Ki Vaar Mehla 4.

Only You know the extent of Your Greatness and Glory. No one is as Great as You.

“Teri Vadiaiyee Tu Hai Jaanda Tudh Jewad Avar Na Koyee.”

If there were some other contender or rival as Great as You, then one could speak about him. You Alone are as Great as You are.

“Tudh Jewad hor sareek je hovai ta aakhiye Tudh Jewad Tu Hai Hoyee.”

Whoever serves You, receives Peace and Happiness. Who else can compare to You?

“Jin Tu Sewiaya tin Sukh Paaiya hor Tis Ki Rees kare kya koyee.”

Lord, You are All Powerful to Destroy and Create. You are the Great Bounteous Giver. With palms joined together in supplication, all stand begging before You.

“Tu Bhanan Gharhan Samrath Dataar Hai Tudh Aghe manggan nu haath jorh khalli sabh hoyee.”

I can see no other Bounteous Giver as Great as You. You Give Your Charity to all beings of the continents, worlds, solar systems, nether worlds and galaxies.

“Tudh Jewad Dataar mai koyee nadar na aaveyi Tudh sabse no Daan Ditta Khandi Varbhandi Paatali Pureiyi sabh Loyee.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated:

Sukhmani Sahib Ji tells us if someone sits and proclaims he is a Dataa, a Giver, the True Giver (Nirankar Ji) regards such a person as a great fool.

“Je ko hoye bahe Dataar; Tis Dehnhaar jaane gavaar.”

There is only One Dataa and He resides Unseen in all of us. We beg from Him, and, as it Pleases Him, He showers His Gifts (Daat) upon us. It is futile to ask from others, babas, deras, shaheeds, baba Deep Singh or anyone else. In fact Gurbani says if you go around asking from others, you will receive punishment.

“Je Ghar Hundhe Manggan Jaaiye firh ulama milhe tehhi” (Ang 902)

If one goes out asking for Gifts when the Giver is already Present in his own home, such a person will be chastised.

This Pauri by Guru Ramdas Ji stresses the Awesome, Almighty Nature of God who resides in all of us

When you ask for any Daat from Him, He will give you the Daat, based on your karmas and when He is Pleased with you.

“Nanak Nadri Karmi Daat.” (Japji Sahib).
