The Ragi Singh Ji here, sings the 44th Pauri of the 1st Vaar.
This Pauri recounts Guru Ji’s discussions with the Sidhs – Sidh Gosht. The Sidhs tried to overwhelm Guru Ji with ridhi sidhis (occult powers) and clever arguments. Guru Ji was not at all affected by ridhi sidhis, and answered all their queries with Shabads (Naam). All the Sidhs were stunned and bowed to Guru Ji. They expressed awe at Guru Ji’s Divine Words (sidh bolan subh bachan) and said Nanak, You have been Blessed with Divine Glory.
(dhan Nanak Teri Vaddi Kamaaiyee).
Guru Ji proceeded to Multan, which had many sadhus and saints. They sent Guru Ji a bowl full of milk, (agho peer Multan de dodh katora bhar leh aayi), meaning Multan was full of saints and there was no need for Guru Ji to be at Multan.
Guru Ji placed a jasmine flower (Babe kadh kar baggal te chambeli dudh vich milaayi), which floated daintily over the milk, indicating no matter how crowded a place might be, there is always room for the the fragrance of Naam. Upon seeing this, the peers of Multan came en bloc to welcome Guru Ji.
Discussion with the siddhs and tour of Multan
Baba has discussions with the siddhs and because of the energy of the sabad those siddhs attained peace.
Conquering the Sivratri fair Baba made the followers of six philosophies bow.
Now, speaking benign words, the siddhs said, Nanak, your achievement is great.
You, emerging like a greatman in kaliyug have diffused the light (of knowledge) all around.
Getting up from that fair, Baba went to the pilgrimage of Multan.
In Multan, the pir presented a bowl of milk filled up to brims (which means That faquirs here are already in plenty).
Baba took out a jasmine flower from his bag and floated it on the milk (which meant that he wa not going to put anybody to trouble).
It was such a scene as if the Ganges were merging into the sea.
