A Sikh expresses his total commitment to God. The Sikh says that as his ego was removed, he was blessed with enlightenment from the Guru. He is full of joy that he has met God

Besides You, Lord, who can I call mine?; You are my Beloved, the breath of my life.

“Tujh bin kavan hamara; mere Pritam praan adhara.”( rahao).

My Beautiful Friend, only You know the condition of my inner being; all comforts that I have, I received from You, my Unfathomable, Immeasurable Master.

“Antar ki bidh Tum hi jaani Tum hi Sajjan Suhelay; Sarab sukha mai Tujh te paaye mere Thakur Ageh Atolay.”

I cannot describe Your Loving Sport, O Treasure of Excellence, Giver of Peace; Lord, You are Inaccessible, Beyond Fathom, Imperishable, and known only through the True Guru.

“Baran na sako Tumre ranga Gunn Nidhan Sukhdatey; Aggam Agochar Prabh Abhinasee Purey Gur te jaatey.”

As my ego was erased, my fears and doubts were cut away, and I was rendered pure; my fears of births and deaths have been removed, and I have seen Your Darshan in Sadhsanggat.

“Bharam bhao kaat kiye nehkewal jab te haumai mari; janam maran ko chuko sahsa Sadhsanggat darsari.”

I wash the Guru’s Feet (adore His Bani), and serve Him. I am a sacrifice to Him thousands of times; servant Nanak has crossed the terrifying world ocean by His (Guru’s) Grace, and met the Beloved Lord.

“Charan pakhar karo Gur sewa baar jaoo lakh bariya; jeh parsad eh bhavjal tariya jann Nanak Pria sang miriya.”
