Hai Tu Hai Tu Hovanhaar – Raag Tilang – Ang 723

On November 2023, Lord Indarjit Singh of Wimbledon spoke at an Oxford motion that,
“God is a delusion”

Gurbani clearly states God is True and Real. He is Sat, Eternal. He existed before Creation. He was and is always One and Formless.

In answer to the sceptical ones, Guru Arjun Dev Ji declares at Angg 723,

“Hai Tu Hai Tu Hovanhaar; Aggam Agadh Uchh Apaar”

(You Are, You Truly Are and shall be Forevermore O Inaccesible, Infinte Lord).

What Lord Singh said about man’s erroneous vision of God as a Great Benevolent Sage with human passions and failings is correct. Gurbani says, He is beyond description, and is neither male nor female.

“Sunn Mandal Eik Jogi Basse; Nar Na Purakh Kaho Kouu Kaise” (Ang 685).

Having created Creation, He looks upon it all from a Different Plane, detached from all.

“Jin Upayee Rang Ravayee Betha Vekhe Vath Eikela” (Ang 722).

Whatever is stated in SGGS  Ji is True and Perfect, as it is Dhur Ki Bani, and the Bani is Nirankar Ji, Himself.
