SGGS Ang 149

Raag Majh

e have to rise above dukh and sukh. We clothe ourselves with dukh and sukh due to our karmas.

“Sukh dukh doye dar kapre pahire jaye manukh” (Ang 149).

We cannot do more karmas to remove these karmic clothes of dukh and sukh. Only His Grace can erase these karmas.

“Karmi aavhe kapra nadri mokh dwar”
( Japji Sahib).

As you accept His Bhana about dukh and sukh, you rise above these karmas and Merge into Him. As you Merge into Him, all karmic weights of dukh and sukh are erased, and you become “nihkarma” i.e. whatever actions you do now, you attract no karmic weight. With Merger into Him, He becomes the Doer, and He pulls you to the Other Shore, safe from the World Play forever.

“Chuka bhara Karam ka hoye nihkarma; Sagar te kandhe charhe Gur Kinne Dharma” (Ang 1002)
