Guru Arjun Dev Ji in Raag Gauree – Gauree Ki Vaar M5 – SGGS Ang 321-323 says man tends to neglect his  spiritual needs. All material things are bitter, only Naam is sweet. To beg from God is an excellent begging. Many recite Naam but it is a rare person whose mind is pierced by His Naam. If  you want to beg for anything, beg for His Naam. Naam is given as His grace. When God gives His grace, all blessings fall on you. Simran gives us higher spiritual avasta. If you want to be on the spiritual path,  you need to detach from worldliness. All parts of the body that sing His praises are pure. If  you get into worldliness you forget God. God is so gracious that even if you have a devil like mind, He can transform you into an angelic being. Once you are with God, your hunger for worldliness disappears. God has no hunger for anything, He lacks nothing. Love for God will provide all your needs, worldly and spiritual.
