Raag Dhanaasree (Dhanasree) M.5
A Sikh who has gone through very difficult times, relates his experiences, and talks to the Guru. The Guru gives Divine advice to the Sikh.
The Sikh says (I tried various methods), but this body, mind and soul belong to Him. He alone is All Wise and knows what to do; only He listened to my (wavering between) difficulties and happinesses, and then my condition improved.
“Jis ka tann mann dhan sabh Tis ka soyee Sughad Sujanee; tin hi suniya dukh sukh mera tao bidh niki khatanee.”
My inner being has faith in the One Lord (Naam) only; others make all kinds of efforts but these have no value at all.
“Jee ki Ekay hee peh manee; avar jattan kar rahe bahuterey tin tilh nahi keemat janee.” (rahao).
The Guru gave me the Priceless Diamond of Ambrosial Naam; (and told me) do not fall or waver. Be steadfast and steady. You will get Perfect satisfaction (from Naam).
“Amrit Naam Nirmolak Heera Gur dinno Mantanee; diggay neh dollay dhrirh kar rehiyo puran hoye triptanee.”
Relieved, the Sikh says, God, those things which tore me away from You are now gone; as an ornament I thought I was separate from You but as I have been melted away (all my impurities and differences removed), I find that my base is Gold (i.e. I am precious and from a Divine Source – my mool is the Jote).
“Oye jo beech ham tum kach hotey tin ki baat bilanee; alankar milh thaylee hoyee hai ta te kanakk vakhanee.”
The Sikh says, the Divine Light (Jote) has manifested in me, and I am filled with Celestial Peace and Glory. The Unstruck Melody of the Lord’s Bani resounds within me.”
“Pargateyo Jote sahaj sukh sobha bajey anhad Bani.”
The Guru concludes. Nanak says, your eternal home has been built. The Guru (Shabad), constructed it for you.”
“Kaho Nanak nichal ghar bandheyo Gur keeyo bandhanee.”
Bhai Ji further elaborated on April 23, 2026:
We tend to cry our problems to others. None are of any real help.
Gurbani says,
“Jis manukh pe karo benanti so apne dukh bhariya.” (Ang 497)
(Anyone I ask for help is full of his own problems).
Thus Gurbani says go deep within yourself in simran. The One who resides within you will resolve all the problems of your soul (jeev).
“Jee kèe Ekay hee peh manee.”
Only He truly listens to your dukh sukh and resolves all issues for you.
“Tin hee suniya dukh sukh mera tao bidh nikee khatanee.”
Gurbani feeds the atma, the soul.
Nothing else can nourish the jeev.
Thus, Guru Ji says,
“Jee ki Ekay hi peh maani.” The jeev receives True Sustenance only from the Name of the One Lord.
All other methods (avar jattan kar rahe), like tiraths, bibhuti, tagge taveets, tarot cards, special asanas, etc, have no value at all (tinh tilh nahi keemat jaani).
The Satguru gives you the Priceless Jewel of God’s Name (Attributes, Gunn). “Amrit Naam Nirmolak Heera Gur dinno Mantaani.”
Before this Naam can truly lodge within you, all vikaars and karmic bondages will have to be removed. This removal is by Naam and Gur Parsad. As removal takes place, you will face challenges and distress. You must persevere. Naam will surely deliver you safely and overcome all challenges. Thus Guru Ji says, one must not waver, or falter, as Naam will perfectly satisfy every need.
“Digge na dollay dhirh kar rehiyo Puran hoye Triptaani.”
Whatever karmic wedge distances you from God will be removed by Naam and Gur Parsad. Thus, the Sikh now says, “Oye jo beech ham Tum kach hotay tinh ki baat bilaani.” Lord, those things which tore me away from You have been removed.
The inner Jote then manifests, and the Wondrous Unstruck Melodies are heard. “Pragtiyo Jote sahaj sukh sobha bajhe Anhatt Bani.”
The jeev now resides at an avastha, (Plane, Dimension) in his nijhi ghar, the Daswa Dwar, and is forever safe in his Eternal Home. The safe delivery of the jeev to his Eternal Home was done by the Kind Guru (Bani, Shabad).
“Kaho Nanak Nichal Ghar Bandhio Gur Dio Bandhani.”
