Raag Gauree – Pada 5 of Astpadhi 17 Sukhmani Sahib.
Guru Ji tells about the awesome powers of God, and stresses that we should lovingly pray to Him.
He infuses His Power into the tiny ant; and He can reduce the armies of millions to ashes; those whose breath He Himself does not take away; He preserves them with His Protective Hands.
“Niki kiri me kal rakhe; bhasam kare laskar kote lakhe; jis ka saas na kaadat Aap; ta ko rakhe de kar Haath.”
Mortals make all sorts of efforts; but their attempts are in vain; no one else can kill or preserve; He is the Protector of all beings.
“Maanas jatan kartt baho bhaant; tis ke kartab birthe jaat; maare na rakhe avar na koye; sarab jiaa ka rakha Soye.”
So, mortal why engage in all kinds of worries?; Nanak says, recite the Name of the Invisible, Wonderful Lord.
“Kahe soch kare re praani; jap Nanak Prabh Alakh Vidanee.”
