Sawaiyee

Before the Swaiyyes by the Bhatt Sahiban, Guru Arjun Dev Ji has two sets of Swaiyyes “Swaiyye Sri Mukhabye M.5.”
The first set has 9 Swaiyye while the second set has 11 Swaiyye.

This is the final Swaiyya (9th) of the first set of Swaiyye. The first set of Swaiyye contains the Praise of Nirankar Ji and the Guru Jote of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

In this 9th Swaiyya speaks of the Glory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The Lamp (Jote) was lit (manifest) in the darkness; all could be saved with faith in Naam.

“Baliyo Charaag andhiaar me sabh kal udhree Ek Naam Dharam.”

In all the worlds the humble Guru Nanak has become manifest; the Guru (Shabad) is the very image of Supreme God Himself.

“Pargat sagal Har bhavan me jan Nanak Gur Parbrahm.”
