SGGS Ang 139

Raag Majh

We are all part of God’s Fascinating Kudrat. This Kudrat is Driven by the Unseen Formless One – Nirankar.

It is Praises of Nirankar that we should Sing.

“Ustat mann me kar Nirankar.”
(Sukhmani Sahib)

Our jeev (which is also Unseen) bows to Him in our hearts.

“Eik Nirankar Le Riday Namaskaro”
( Ang 1136).

As we live in the physical world, we take to Naam in the Sharan of a Satguru (SGGS Ji).

We recite with the tongue. The ears help us take the recited Naam inside.

Although He is Formless, the Gurus have stressed that He does Listen to everything that is spoken, whether by the tongue or the mann. As your avastha rises, and you plead for His Love, He responds by showering you with His Love. This is what Guru Nanak Dev Ji says in Japji Sahib.

“Moho ke bollan bolliye jit Sun Dhare Pyar”?

One who does not take to Naam, his organs, including the ears just wear away. Sheikh Fareed Ji says,

“Fareeda akhi dekh pateeniya sunn sunn rinnay kann” (Ang 1378).

Satguru’s Bani which we recite has a special dhun – a Mystical Sound Current. This triggers off Anhat Bani whose dhuni Fascinates the Lord, as He Listens.

“Anhat Bani Thaan Nirala;Ta Ki Dhun Mohay Gopala” (Ang 186).

In many Shabads there is a plea to Him to Listen.

“Sunn Yaar Hamare Sajjan Eik Karo Benantiya.” (Ang 703)

As your avastha rises, Guru Ji says you no longer hear with your ears, but the inner Unseen ears of your suratt.

“Akhi Bajho Vekhna Vin Kanna Sunana.” (Ang 139).

Whatever intelligence we may acquire, artificial or real we will never achieve 5% of this engineering! (Ears, two small structures on the side of the head – clip oavailable on YouTube). Let us not bragg about our scientific achievements; they are just pea nuts!
