Raag Bilaaval (Bilawal) M.1

This Shantt has 4 padas. This is the 3rd pada. Gurbani addresses a jeev isteri.

O pretty bride with bewitching eyes, Gurbani beckons you to awake; listen to Gurbani and believe in its Indescribable Story; a rare gurmukh understands this Indescribable Story, and rises to the Infinite State.

“Jaag salonrhiye bolay Gurbani Raam; jin sunn maniarhi Akath Kahani Raam; Akath Kahani padh Nirbani ko virla gurmukh bujhay.”

(Such a gurmukh) merges into the Shabad eradicates his self conceit, and understands the three worlds (the Universe); he remains detached, merges into Infinity, and with a pure mind cherishes the virtues of the Lord; Nanak has enshrined in his heart the Lord who pervades and permeates every pore in all places.

“Oh Shabad samaye aap gavaiye tribhavan sojee sujhe; rahe ateet Aprampar rataa Sach mann gunn sareiya; Oh pur rehiya sarab thaayi Nanaka urh dhareiya.”‎

Bhai Ji further elaborated on October 21, 2025:

The jeev isteri is in a state of drunk stupor, intoxicated by maya.
Nothing can make her sober, besides Gurbani.
She is asleep. Gurbani gently prods her to be awake.

Instead of maya, listen to the Akath Kahani of God.
