SGGS Angg 1002.

Raag Maroo (Maru) M.5.

Guru Ji describes when Gur Parsad happens and there is enlightenment.

The egg of doubts and superstitions has burst. My mind has been enlightened.

“Footo anda bharam ka manay bheyo pargass.”

The Guru has cut the shackles from my feet and set me free.

“Kaati beri pagge te Gur kinni bandh khlaas.”

My coming and going in reincarnation has ended.

“Aavan jaan rehiyo.”

The boiling cauldron (bodily desires) has cooled. The Guru has blessed me with cool soothing Naam.

“Tapat karaha bujh gya Gur sittal Naam diyo.” (rahao).

Macaulliffe who wrote the History of the Sikh Gurus and Bhagats and about Bani of SGGS Ji wrote this Shabad at the beginning of each of his 6 volumes. He became a Sikh sometime around 1870.

Bhai Ji further elaborated June 11, 2026:

When your entire karmic weight is removed, you become “Nihkarmi.”

“Chuka bhara karam ka hoye nihkarma..”

It is this blessed state which prompts Bhagat Ravidas Ji to tell Chitar Gupt (those who record every action)

“Urvaar Paar Ke Daniya Likh Leho Aal Pataal; Mohe Jam Dandh na laggaiye tajjile saggal janjaal”
(Ang 345)

One who is nihkarmi carries on daily life as usual but no lekhas will ever attach to him.
