Darshan dijay khol ki vaar – Raag Bilaaval – Ang 856

SGGS Angg 856.

Raag Bilaaval – Bhagat Kabeer (Kabir) Ji.

A Sikh stands at God’s Darr (Door) and pleads for Darshan.

All this is happening in the mann of the Sikh. He is pleading for the Daswa Dwar to be opened in His Grace to enable the Sikh to have Darshan.

Amongst the world Scriptures SGGS Ji mentions at numerous places that Darshan of God can be possible with His Grace.
We should all plead for Darshan.

The Shabad starts with a plea in utter humility. I stand at Your Door. Dharmandey is variously interpreted to mean beggar. The Gurus have used the word “jachak” to convey the same meaning.

And the plea at His Darr is “who else besides You can ever cherish me?; please open Your Door and give me Your Blessed Darshan.

Darmade thade darbar;

Tujh bin surat karai ko meri darshan dijai kholih kivar (Rahao);

After registering His plea, the Sikh sings His Praises.

“Tum dhan Dhani udhaar tyaagi sarvan suniat sojass tumaar.”

Who else can I ask from? I see all others are mere beggars before You. My salvation can only come from You.

“Maango kahe rankk sabh dekho tum hi to mero nistaar”

Then three saints of God are mentioned. Jaideo Ji, Namdev Ji and Sudhama Ji. You blessed them with Your Infinite Grace.

“Jaideo Nama Bip Sudhama tin ko kirpa bheyi hai apaar.”

The Shabad concludes with an observation that the Lord is All Powerful and a Great Giver; in an instant He can bestow the four cardinal blessings.

“Kahe Kabir tum Samrath Daate char padarth det na baar.”

The four padarth are dharam, arth, kaam and mokh” (Ang 805).

One is most blessed if the kiwaad are opened by the Guru’s Grace, and one gets Darshan.

At Angg 383, Guru Ji says,

“Khol kiwwad dikhale Darshan punrup janam na aaiye.”

The jeevan yatra is that tough. Only at the Darshan Stage/Avastha is one freed from the cycle of janam maran
