Kabir Ji’s two Amazing Sloks.

Slok 156.

It is good to renounce/be detached from maya. After detaching, some subtle pride can well up in you that you have done something great. That pride is toxic and can lead to your downfall.

Slok 158.

Kabir Ji says, the Sacha Satgur (in our case, SGGS Ji) always Imparts Perfect Teachings and Advice. Despite listening to such precious Advice, it does not touch the blind one and he carries on according to his haumai.
This Slok certainly relates to the various fights we have in Gurdwaras. None of the fighters seem to have imbibed the Teachings of SGGS Ji.

“ਕਬੀਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਤਜੀ ਤ ਕਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਜਉ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਜਿਆ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਮਾਇਆ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੰਵਾਰਦਾ, ਜੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ।
Kabeer, what good is it to give up Maya, if the mortal does not give up his pride?

ਮਾਨ ਮੁਨੀ ਮੁਨਿਵਰ ਗਲੇ ਮਾਨੁ ਸਭੈ ਕਉ ਖਾਇ ॥੧੫੬॥

ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ (ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇ) ਇਸ ਮਾਣ-ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਗਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਣ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧੫੬।
Even the silent sages and seers are destroyed by pride; pride eats up everything. ||156||

Bhagat Kabeer Ji in Salok Kabeer Jee – 1372

ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੈ ਜਉ ਸਿਖਾ ਮਹਿ ਚੂਕ ॥
ਪਰ ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਜੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਕਾਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਭੀ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ,
Kabeer, what can the True Guru do, when His Sikhs are at fault?

ਅੰਧੇ ਏਕ ਨ ਲਾਗਈ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਂਸੁ ਬਜਾਈਐ ਫੂਕ ॥੧੫੮॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਗੱਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ।੧੫੮।
The blind do not take in any of His Teachings; it is as useless as blowing into bamboo. ||158||”
